A fundraiser for a 100 Mile House man who was killed in a fatal motor vehicle incident on Highway 97 near Clinton last week is trying to raise money for his family.
Jeff Peach was killed when his transport truck left the highway and rolled over, according to police, who say the cause is still under investigation.
A GoFundMe fundraiser says Peach leaves behind his wife Krista, along with three children, and three step children.
He’d been working for Canada Bread for the last two and half years.
“He loved his job. He loved interacting with people,” wrote fundraiser organizer Mandy Mclelland. “He always had a joke or story to tell with a smile.”
She says Peach was often seen walking his son, Keldyn, to and from school, noting he was a very involved father who loved his kids more than anything.
Mclelland says the money raised will help the family ease the burden of bills and allow them to focus on healing. As of 11 a.m. on Dec. 3, $6,190 of the $25,000 goal had been raised.
Police previously said there is no evidence to suggest criminality as a factor of the crash, but they are asking anyone with information to reach out to RCMP.
