Kamloops city council has approved polling stations and advance poll dates for the referendum on borrowing for a performing arts centre.
The 15 polling stations will be the same as the 2015 performing arts centre referendum and the 2018 municipal election.
Corporate services director Kathy Humphrey says there will be other voting options as well, for people who will be away during the referendum or have accessibility issues.
“We will have in mail-in ballot voting as well as two advanced polling days, one on Wednesday March 25 and one on Wednesday April 1st. Mail ballots will be encouraged and sent out to those who meet the criteria, and we will make an effort for some of the smaller senior facilities to reach out with mail voting for them.”
The referendum will happen on April 4, asking people in Kamloops if city staff can borrow $45 million over 25 years to help build a Kamloops Centre for the Arts in the downtown core.
