Expect a slow go if you’re travelling on many southern Interior highways near Kamloops today.
The Coquihalla Highway is closed between Merritt and Hope heading northbound because of a crash near the Coldwater Road exit, and there are delays of up to 30 minutes in the southbound lanes to accommodate emergency vehicles. The highway is expected to be fully open again at 12:30.
DriveBC says travellers along Highway 1 can expect two-hour delays today between Revelstoke and Golden, until 4 p.m., because of avalanche control work happening in the area of Rogers Pass.
As of 10 a.m., the Trans-Canada Highway is now fully back open at Yale, south of Boston Bar, after rocks on the road caused an overnight closure, which lasted about 12 hours altogether.
Meanwhile, witnesses tell the NL News that traffic is being blocked on Highway 1 because of a crash east of Chase, as of 9 a.m. No incident has been reported by DriveBC.
#BCHwy1 CLOSED today between Rogers Pass Summit and Beaver Valley Rd. for avalanche control activities starting at 9am-4pm. Anyone travelling between #RevelstokeBC and #GoldenBC can expect up to 2 hour delays. No detour available.
