
Update: Kamloops RCMP say a female has been arrested in connection to an incident this afternoon at 288 Tranquille Rd. The suspect was arrested earlier today in Chilliwack and will appear in court tomorrow.
Original: Kamloops RCMP are looking for a suspect after a dramatic police incident caught on tape in a North Shore parking lot today.
Staff Sergeant Mat Van Laer says police were called to to 288 Tranquille Road eraly this afternoon and found a white SUV that had been stolen from Surrey.
He says the woman driver evaded plainclothes officers by ramming between parked vehicles – which was caught on tape by a bystander who posted the incident online.
The woman drove across the city in the damaged vehicle and ditched it in the parking lot of the Aberdeen Canadian Tire. She fled on foot before police arrived and hasn’t been found.
Van Laer says police are thankful no one was hurt during the event.
