The 2019 Thompson Nicola Cariboo United Way Homes for the Holidays fundraiser brought in almost $29,000 this year – money that will be put right back into community.
That’s according to the Director of Marketing and Communications, Katie Neustaeter, in a press release.
“Thank you to everyone who made this event such a success,” she said. “Dollars raised from events like Homes for the Holidays help vulnerable members of our community in significant ways.”
That includes the food bank, ASK Wellness, to Family Tree and beyond, Neustaeter noted.
“We’re so proud of the compassionate work being done right here in our community, and every dollar given through events, personal or corporate donations, and workplace campaigns has a significant impact on individual lives while promoting Local Love,” she added.
She points out that over 1,000 people took the tour this year which had five locations, three of which were private homes.
“Each stop on the tour was decorated by a talented, local designer with additional furnishings and decor from businesses within our city – all of whom generously donated their time, talents and wares,” Neustaeter said.
