Does Kamloops have enough housing for the homeless? One city councillor thinks so.
Kathy Sinclair says less than two weeks ago, she went out and spoke with people who live on the street in Kamloops.
“You know, it’s my belief in talking with folks that there are enough beds, that’s also what I’m hearing from the city’s social planning department. There’s enough emergency shelter beds as well as supportive housing. But there are people who would prefer to spend the night on the street, unfortunately.”
Sinclair was asked after Kelowna has had to act because of a tent city moving in on a downtown sidewalk.
