A Kamloops city councillor has sold his downtown coffee shop.
Mike O’Reilly says in a Facebook post that Caffe Motivo on Victoria Street is switching hands after being his for five years.
“Very happy to say that I’ve sold to a local young couple who are going to be able to give it the love, attention and energy that it needs. Given the grey hair that I have now which I didn’t have when I started as I owned Caffe Motivo. So you know, I’m a little tired,” O’Reilly says.
“I’ve been very proud of the things we’ve been able to accomplish, not just here as a business, but the things we’ve been able to do to give back to the community. A couple things I want to touch on are the thousand of dollars we’ve been able to raise for the United Way. Last year, we donated over 500 pounds to the New Life Mission to give out to the homeless in Kamloops.”
O’Reilly urged people to continue supporting businesses in the downtown and across the city.
