Revelstoke RCMP are asking drivers to drive accordingly on highways, with a wallop of winter weather hitting the area this week and more snow expected tonight.
The warning comes after a semi-truck jackknifed and the 53-year-old driver was issued a speeding ticket today.
Cpl. Thomas Blakney says the crash happened when the truck was making a pass heading westbound when it jackknifed, which blocked traffic in both directions for about an hour. That happened at 11:40 a.m. today about five kilometres west of Revelstoke, Blakney says.
He says that no one was hurt and the semi-truck was the only vehicle involved, adding that Highway 1 was covered in compact snow and sleet when the crash happened.
A snowfall warning has now ended from Eagle Pass to Rogers Pass but flurries are expected to continue today and tonight.
Closer to Kamloops, the Coquihalla is expecting to see 20 to 30 centimetres of snow fall overnight today between Merritt and Hope, and a snowfall warning is in place.
