Two years after an oxygenator failed in Logan Lake and all the fish died, officials can breathe a sigh of relief.
Last month, a vendor in charge of monitoring the lake gave an update to district’s lake enhancement committee to say that equipment is working as expected.
Chief administrative officer Randy Lambright says this winter – and last – have seen normal conditions in the lake.
“We’re very pleased with what we saw, and what we’re seeing. That then translated into a lot more usage in our campground. Our numbers in our campground, in terms of revenue, I think went up an additional $30,000 $40,000 dollars. So that’s encouraging, it shows that things are working.”
The BC Government re-stocked Logan Lake with 3,000 “catch-able” fish in May of 2018 after all the fish died that winter.
