Canadians aren’t getting enough sleep as reported in a survey from Research Company, saying 64% get less than seven hours of sleep on a typical weekday.
President of Research Company, Mario Conseco says many Canadians still don’t get the required amount on the weekends.
“Thirty-five percent of Canadians are sleeping from seven to nine hours on a typical weekday or workday, so there is almost a third of us who are meeting the recommendations that our own government is setting for us when it comes to sleep at night”.
Almost half of Canadians say stressing about money and financial matters keep them up at night and about a third stress over relationships and family which also puts strain on their sleep.
Alberta had the highest number of Canadians that lack sleep due to worries about financial issues.
“Forty-nine percent of Canadians say that they are worried about money and financial matters over the past month and that made it harder for them to fall asleep at night. It’s not about what is going to be happening when it come to domestic politics or foreign politics, the number one thing that is making us harder for us to fall asleep is money”.
The recommended time to sleep for is seven to nine hours and only 45% of Canadians follow that guideline.
