Another water leak at Thompson Rivers University, although it’s not as significant as one that happened last January at the Open Learning Building.
Communications Director Darshan Lindsay says about a half dozen classrooms in the Old Main building have been affected, but she expects things to return to normal by Tuesday, Jan. 21.
“Our writing centre which is a service that we offer for students has been relocated to [the House of Learning], so that service is still being provided,” she told NL. “We did have some classrooms that were impacted so we are just looking at relocating those classroom spaces elsewhere on campus.”
Lindsay doesn’t think the cold weather is responsible for this particular water leak. And she says officials don’t yet have an estimate on what the damage is or how much the repairs will cost.
“We have a service team in place that is looking at the extent of the damage and doing the remediation work that needs to be done to get everything back and operational for Tuesday ideally,” Lindsay noted.
