It’s the time of year when more and more people seem to be getting sick and the Kamloops-Thompson School board is prepared in the event that there are bigger concerns.
Board Chair Kathleen Karpuk says coronavirus was a topic of discussion last night that was a late addition to the agenda.
“We have a admin procedure that we’ve had in place for several years now, it has been updated, and it is with regard to pandemic response. So we just wanted people to know that in the event that the coronavirus does get declared as a pandemic, which it isn’t yet, that the board is ready to deal with that.”
Karpuk says in the meantime, people are asked take precautions.
“We are asking people that you observe hygiene. Washing your hands, sneezing into your elbow, staying home if you have a fever or are throwing up. It’s cold and flu season, so just take those extra precautions and hopefully we don’t have a pandemic.”
