The Thompson-Nicola Regional District is looking for a new Chief Administrative Officer after the retirement of Sukh Gill.
Gill’s retirement is effective as of Friday, Feb. 14.
Board chair Ken Gillis says he is very thankful for the decades of work Mr Gill gave to the TNRD.
“Certainly wish to reiterate that we are indeed grateful for to Mr. Gill for the 20 years of dedicated service that he put in. About 12 as Chief Financial Officer and then eight more as Chief Administrative Officer. We certainly wish him the very best in his future endeavors.”
Gillis says it will have a tremendous impact on the work it does moving forward and it has appointed CFO Doug Rae as the acting CAO.
“We are looking immediately for an interim CAO and once we’ve got that looked after we will begin the search for a permanent replacement for Mr. Gill.”
Gillis also wanted to point out an error that was made over the weekend.
“I want to acknowledge that I did make a mistake and that Mr Gill’s leaving was a retirement not a resignation, as our press release said. I want to make it clear that it was my mistake and mine alone, because I sent the information to our communications department and I used the wrong word.”
