There’s been an attempted ransomware attack on the Mustard Seed operations in Alberta and British Columbia.
In a statement, the Mustard Seed says they were made aware of the attack on its internal servers today, Feb. 26.
“Systems are affected across Mustard Seed locations in Alberta and British Columbia,” the statement read. “No demands or ransom requests have been made. Once being made aware of the issue, immediate actions were taken. Staff and the organization’s board were all made known of the issue.”
Rosanne Goetz, the Director of Marketing and Communications says at this time, no client or donor data is believed to be compromised, but it remains unclear how many people might be affected at this time.
“We have a rigorous system in place to protect the organization’s information and are taking action to address the breach,” she said.
The Mustard Seed operates in Kamloops, Edmonton, Calgary, Red Deer, and Medicine Hat.
