In a wild finish, Kamloops resident Matt Dunstone and Team Saskatchewan scored four in the tenth end to come-from-behind to beat Team BC skipped by Kamloops native Jim Cotter a the Brier in Kingston, Ontario.
While Cotter was raised in the Tournament Capital, Dunstone now lives in the city while calling the shots for the Saskatchewan entry.
Cotter and Team BC fell behind early, but scored three in the sixth and then stole two more in the seventh to go up 6-4. They would take a 8-5 lead to the tenth, but Dunstone made the takeout in ten to score four en route to an improbable 9-8 win.
At the Brier, Team BC drops to 1-2 while Saskatchewan improves to 2-1.
Both rinks are in action again in the 11 a.m. draw – Saskatchewan against the Northwest Territories’ Jamie Koe, while BC faces the Wildcard Team of Mike McEwen from Ontario.
