The Kamloops Sports Hall of Fame has announced its class of 2020, with the induction of five people and a team
Going into the Hall in its 30th anniversary is Terry Bangen, who had a hand in the Blazers three Memorial Cup titles in 1992, 1994, and 1995.
Also being inducted is Kim Scott Kryger, a decorated figure skater in the 1970’s and early 1980’s, and Michelle Pye, who was a referee at the 2015 FIFA Women’s World Cup, held in Canada.
Joining them is curling’s Ray Olsen, and Brad Yamoaka, who was inducted into the BC Football Hall of Fame last October.
Rounding out the Class of 2020 are the Eve Skakun rinks, winners of three BC Senior Womens Championships in 1994, 1995, and 1997. Skakun, who passed away last year at the age of 90, curled with Liz Karpluk, Una Hazen, Sandy Allen, Janice Latta, and Kay Belanger during the title years.
