Good news for the Civil Air Search and Rescue Association in Kamloops.
Air Deputy Larry Calvert says a day after reporting that its Emergency Locator Transmitter was missing, the device has been found.
“Thanks to a vigilant AIM Road crew member, they found it blinking on the highway. It has a blinking light on it when its activated. They saw it in the dark, they picked it up and when they heard the radio news report about it being missing, they contacted us and we now have our ELT back again.”
Calvert says the ELT device is worth several hundred dollars, but says it’s invaluable for training pilots.
He says it was specially produced and that it isn’t even being made anymore.
