The show will still go on at Western Canada Theatre, but with restrictions after the province announced a ban on public gatherings with more than 250 people in light of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Managing Director Evan Klassen says tonight’s performance of the Kamloops Festival of the Performing Arts will continue, as planned, at the Sagebrush Theatre. However he says there will be a maximum capacity of 249 people, including staff, artists & patrons.
“More information will be released regarding the KFPA performances on Friday & Sunday as it is known,” he said.
Klassen says the performances of Café Daughter at the Pavilion Theatre will continue, as planned until March 21, at the Pavilion Theatre. The Pavilion Theatre has a maximum capacity of 150 people, which at this time is not affected by the ban.
Paquin Entertainment’s production of Mini Pops Live, at the Sagebrush Theatre on March 14, will be postponed to a date in Fall 2020. Original tickets will remain to be valid for the new date once it is known, and the Kamloops Live! Box Office will be in contact with ticketholders directly.
“Future performances remain on sale for the time being, until event producers can be contacted and arrangements are made,” Klassen said.
WCT is asking anyone who is feeling sick or at risk to stay home, and contact the Kamloops Live! Box Office to arrange a ticket exchange or an account credit to a future event.
“We are implementing additional cleaning & disinfecting processes at our theatres,” added Klassen. “We encourage everyone arriving at our venues to wash their hands upon arrival, and regularly throughout their visit.”
