The Cirque du Soleil AXEL circus show in Kamloops that was scheduled for June 18 to 21 at Sandman Centre has been suspended.
It’s due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the ban against gatherings of more than 250 people in the province. In addition to the Kamloops show, shows in Victoria, Abbotsford, Kelowna, and Prince George have been cancelled.
The company says all tickets will be refunded, and people will be notified how and when their refunds will be processed by the ticketing company.
Spokesperson Chrisanna Chan says Cirque du Soleil’s Touring Show Division is revisiting tour plans for AXEL shows for the remaining of 2020.
“Cirque du Soleil Entertainment Group is committed to providing a work and performance environment with the highest standard of health and safety,” she said.
“In collaboration with local health authorities and business partners, the company will continue to monitor this situation as it evolves and will share information as needed.”
All customers who have purchased tickets for a Cirque du Soleil show will be contacted by their point of sale.
