Students in the Kamloops Thompson-School District who left yesterday morning for Costa Rica are on their way back already.
Assistant superintendent Trish Smillie explains why.
“Prior to the travel ban, our school trip that went to Costa Rica had left. They are choosing to return now, based on the new restrictions that have been imposed from the province of B.C.”
The School District cancelled student trips to different parts of Europe a week ago, but at that time said the Costa Rica trip, involving students from South Kamloops Secondary, would go on as planned.
Yesterday, the B.C. government recommended anyone returning here from out-of-country to self-isolate for 14 days upon arrival.
