A second case of COVID-19 has been reported in the Interior Health region.
Provincial health official Doctor Bonnie Henry shared that news when giving her latest update on cases in B.C.
“We have nine new cases that were identified in the last day here in British Columbia. So that brings us to a total of 73 confirmed cases,” Henry says.
“This is not a surprise. When we first recognized the outbreak, it had just been starting, so we know people are still in that incubation period and there may be more cases that arise in the coming days.”
The Interior Health Authority covers 215,000 square kilometres; apart from senior homes near Vancouver that have seen outbreaks, health officials have not said which community that COVID-19 cases have been reported in. They have cited privacy reasons for people with the illness as the reason why.
The first COVID-19 case in the IHA was reported exactly a month ago on February 14.
