There has been no official word yet from the CFL, but the CFL Players Association is preparing for training camps not to start on time because of COVID-19.
That will mean an impact to Kamloops as the BC Lions are set to host their eleventh straight training camp at Hillside Stadium from May 13 to June 3.
New CFLPA President Solomon Elimimian is telling players around the league to prepare for the worst. In a letter to players, he says the coronavirus outbreak “will impact 2020 training camps and the CFL season.”
CFL Commissioner Randy Ambrosie will hold a video town hall question-and-answer session on Friday at 9 a.m. B.C. time on the league’s website. He says it is important to keep CFL fans engaged and informed during the pandemic.
The CFL regular season is currently scheduled to kick off on June 11.
The deal for the Lions hold training camp in Kamloops expires in 2020.
