
One person has reportedly been taken to hospital after crashing into a power pole before hitting a parked van at the Shell gas station in Valleyview.
The incident happened at about 6:30 p.m., when a red sedan going westbound on the Trans-Canada Highway Frontage Road went off the road, hitting a pole in front of Wendy’s and Tim Hortons before crashing into a white van parked at the Shell.
The driver of the sedan was said to be taken to hospital after the crash with unknown injuries.
Unconfirmed reports say the driver had a cardiac arrest behind the wheel before the crash happened.
As of 7:30 p.m., police and ambulance were still at the scene and BC Hydro was repairing the power pole.
Witness Nathan Ritchie tells NL News that customers and staff inside the Wendy’s and Tim Hortons because of the safety hazard with wires and debris being down in front of both properties.
