Spring street sweeping across Kamloops is still expected to be done on schedule despite challenging weather recently.
Apart from a major snowfall on Friday, streets manager Glen Farrow says chilly overnight temperatures have limited the street sweeping that crews can do as well.
But he says that work is still expected to be done by mid-to-late May.
“That still is what we’re aiming for at this point. We have completed most of the spring cleanup in Brock, North Shore, Batchelor, out into Westsyde. So we’ve made a lot of success out there. Over this past week we’ve been focusing on some of the bus routes and bike lanes through the Valleyview corridor, working our way up into Juniper.”
And despite concerns caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, street cleaning crews in Kamloops are running at full staff.
