The Mayor of Sun Peaks says it has a little more than 20 cases of COVID-19 in the community.
Speaking on The Jeff Andreas Show, Al Raine says the medical team has told him about a number of presumptive cases. “Reported in the media two cases of positive tests here. And I certainly believe our doctor, Dr. Barkley, is on top of his game and he said about 20 people that are showing signs of the coronavirus.”
One of the confirmed cases was identified in one the community’s two doctors. “Can confirm that Dr. Bantock is back healthy again and is certainly helping Dr. Barkely. They are doing most of their appointments by telephone and I think they’re getting ready to see some patients who they have to physically see, but the system is working very well here.”
The medical team here in Sun Peaks believe there are about 20, a few more than 20 people actually, who are showing signs. They are presumptive cases.”
Raine says community members are getting better when it comes to physical distancing and reaffirms the request for people not to visit the community while the pandemic is ongoing.
