The mayor of Sun Peaks say most people got the message over the long weekend.

Al Raine says there were very few out-of-towners who stayed in the village for Easter.

He says virtually everything is closed in Sun Peaks except for grocery stores.

“It was still pretty quiet. What I personally saw was not too much change from the week previous. But I did receive emails and calls from people, saying people had called up for the weekend. But I still think it was in minor numbers and most people stayed away.”

Last week, Sun Peaks asked people not to visit the village during the pandemic if they are not permanent residents.
