Two men are dead after a head-on crash on Highway 97 near 70 Mile House.
Police say the crash happened yesterday just before 2:15 p.m. near Cunningham Road, where a grey Chevrolet Cavalier and a grey Mitsubishi Outlander collided.
The driver of the Cavalier, a man from 70 Mile, was pronounced dead at the scene when emergency crews arrived, according to Southeast District RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Jesse O’Donaghey.
O’Donaghey says paramedics tried to revive the driver of the Outlander, a man from Tumbler Ridge, who was also pronounced dead at the scene.
The two people killed were the only two people involved in the crash.
The cause of the crash has not been determined.
Police and the BC Coroners Service are continuing to investigate, and any witnesses are being asked to come forward.
