After trimming down its 2020 budget, Kamloops City Council will meet Tuesday to find out how taxes will be distributed.
“So now that we have the actual tax amount that we are going to collect, it’s just over $114 million, we will then take the information that we have from BC assessment and that calculate out what the mill rate is going to be for each person” says Finance Director Kathy Humphrey.
“So then individual taxpayers will be able to look at their assessment, information from BC assessment, and calculate out what their individual increase or decrease or stay the same is on their tax bill.”
There is an online tool to help you calculate what your 2020 tax bill will look like.
Last week council voted to trim down its budget for this year to better deal with the pandemic. A final rate will not be officially known until May 15, 2020.
