A woman in Chetwynd can’t believe the act of kindness someone did for her parents yesterday in a Kamloops grocery store.
Susan Dixie says her parents are in their 70s and at high risk of COVID-19.
She says they sent their teenage grand daughter to do shopping yesterday with their credit card, at the Valleyview Save-On Foods.
“There was unfortunately a mix-up with the pin, so when she got up to the till she couldn’t pay for the groceries. And the gentleman behind her in line said don’t worry about it, just take your groceries to the car. And when she came back to get his name, he was gone. So my parents would just like to send out a sincere thank you to the gentleman who bought them groceries for a week,” Dixie tells NL News while fighting back tears.
“It’s just at a time like this, it brings tears to my eyes, that some people are looking out for my parents… It’s hard to be away from them and not see them. It’s just really nice that people are being kind and taking care of each other. And I think at a time like this, stories like that are really important.”
Dixie says the bill was $130 that the stranger paid.
