Merritt RCMP are renewing an appeal for information surrounding the disappearance of a 44-year-old woman, Lalie Honeywell, who was last seen around 6 p.m. on Monday night, May 11, at the Double D Motel on Nicola Avenue in Merritt.
“At this time, our investigators do not believe that criminality was involved in her disappearance. That investigation is still ongoing,” Southeast District RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Jesse O’Donaghey told NL News.
The appeal comes as police believe they found items believed to be Honeywell’s near in the vicinity of the Nicola River Bridge, which prompted a search of the Nicola River.
“The search of the high waters of the Nicola River has now been completed, with negative results,” O’Donaghey added. “Although search and rescue personnel are no longer scouring the area, the RCMP continues its search for Lalie [Honeywell] and its investigation into her disappearance.”
“At this time, investigators are urging motorists who travelled in the area of the Nicola River Bridge, along Nicola Avenue, any time after 5 p.m. on Monday May 11 to review their footage for any signs of Ms. Honeywell.”
She stands five-foot-three and has short brown hair and brown eyes. Police at the time said Honeywell was last seen wearing jeans, a purple shirt, and a pair of DC shoes.
If you have any information on her whereabouts, you’re asked to contact Merritt RCMP.
