The province is reporting just 12 new cases of COVID-19 across B.C. in the past two days.
None of those are in the Interior Health Authority.
But Provincial Health Officer Dr. Bonnie Henry says we are not out of the woods yet.
“As we see many places now that are opening up, we may see a resurgence of new cases, and none of us want that. We need to keep our curve as flat as we possibly can, so we look to ease more restrictions later this summer.”
Dr. Henry also reported four new deaths today, all being senior residents of long-term care homes.
There have now been 161 deaths from COVID-19 in this province as 2,530 reported cases. There are 267 active cases in B.C. as of today, which is 12 per cent fewer than on Saturday when 303 cases were active.
There are now 37 people in hospital with the virus and seven people in intensive or critical care units. More than 83 per cent of reported cases are considered recovered.
