The West Victoria Street construction will be completely done next week according to Kamloops city staff.
Capital projects manager Darren Crundwell says crews are now doing mostly cleanup and putting finishing touches on the streetscape.
He says hanging baskets and banners will be going up next week.
“The streetlight poles that we put up have irrigation in them, and they have banner brackets, so that’s something we’ll be doing every year. But it’s coming together, all the power lines are down. We’re just filling in, I think there’s a few more areas to fill in where those were taken out. But essentially we’re complete.”
The $13.5-million-dollar project started in April of 2019, and initially had a completion timeline of two years. It will have been finished in just under 14 months.
