The B.C. River Forecast Centre has lifted a high streamflow advisory that was in place for the North Thompson River and its tributaries, including the Clearwater River.
Also lifted today were high streamflow advisories for the Bonaparte River at Cache Creek and the Salmon River near Salmon Arm.
The River Forecast Centre says water levels have been improving because of cooler weather and diminished rainfall over the past week. While there is still some rain in the forecast this week, it is not expected to be heavy, which will allow river conditions to improve.
New data shows that the Thompson River, west of the Overlanders Bridge, was 6.993 metres high at 6:45 a.m. today, nearly two feet lower than June 4 when it hit its highest point so far this spring at 7.519 metres.
A high streamflow advisory remains in place for the South Thompson River and its tributaries, as well as Shuswap Lake and the Shuswap River. There is also an advisory in place for the Nicola River At Outlet Of Nicola Lake, near Merritt.
