An initiative by the Kamloops Downtown Central Business Improvement Association is hoping to benefit both business owners and their customers as things start to reopen.
KCBIA Executive Director Carl DeSantis says the ‘Open With Care’ campaign was brought forth so business owners can open in a safe compliant manner while keeping the confidence of their customers.
“You know we’re extremely excited. Downtown Kamloops is finally getting back to business, we also understand that consumers may be hesitant to go back to their previous behaviours,” he said, on the NL Morning News.
“Businesses in Downtown Kamloops, they’re taking responsible steps, they’re following the WorkSafeBC regulations to ensure health and safety of their employees and the public.”
DeSantis adds part of the the KCBIA’s responsibility is to showcase downtown and attract people there and enjoy everything downtown Kamloops has to offer.
“It’s tough times to do that right now because of the pandemic and the restrictions on public spacing and everything else,” he added.
“So, the middle ground is to instill this confidence to make sure the community is aware that we are doing everything we can to ensure that they will be safe, that they will return home healthy and they’ll have fun.”
