
A 44-year-old woman from Lake Country is dead after being struck by a car on Highway 5A.
Around 10:00 p.m. Monday night, Kamloops RCMP responded to a collision between a car and a pedestrian on the highway, between the intersections of Rogers Way and Hugh Allan Drive.
The woman was pronounced dead on scene.
According to witnesses, the woman was seen walking in the middle of the highway dressed in black clothing before the crash, and there was very little lighting.
The driver remained on scene and was cooperative, and no charges are being considered.
The BC Coroners Service has been notified and is also investigating the circumstances surrounding the woman’s sudden death.
