Kamloops RCMP are looking for a woman who witnessed an assault on Sunday, June 28th involving a man and his dog.
Police say it happened at around 5:00 in the evening on Tranquille Road where a man was walking his German Shepherd off leash and it was seen running in and out of traffic. Witnesses say the dog owner would call the dog back, but if it didn’t comply he would forcefully push the dog onto the sidewalk.
A woman who was walking by told the dog owner to stop, when the man yelled at her and said he would have his dog attack her.
Another man then told the dog owner to leave the woman alone. Police say the suspect allegedly pushed this man up against a wall and had his dog bite him. A third man saw this attack and stepped in to intervene when the suspect had his dog bite this man as well.
Police were called and arrested the man and say all information is being forwarded to the BC Prosecution Service to determine whether charges are appropriate.
The dog was seized by Kamloops bylaw officers.
One victim was taken to hospital at the time of the incident while the other victim sought medical attention later on. Both suffered non-life threatening injuries.
RCMP would like to speak to the woman who was initially involved in the altercation. It is working with a minimal description saying she is short, has blonde hair and was walking south on Tranquille Road near Northills Mall.
