An early-morning arson with Molotov cocktails in Revelstoke has led to two men being arrested.
Southeast District RCMP Cpl. Jesse O’Donaghey says the incident happened just being 3 a.m. today at a home in the 1100-block of Fourth Street East.
O’Donaghey says someone was home when it happened and managed to put out the fire himself that started from the Molotov cocktails, a hand-held weapon where a glass bottle is filled with flammable liquid and lit before being tossed.
He says a 36-year-old man and a 34-year-old man were arrested without incident when they returned to the home at about 4 a.m. Charges are now being recommended.
It’s not clear if the suspects know the person who was inside the home, and further details of a motive have not been shared.
Mounties are continuing to investigate, and anyone who may have information is being asked to call Revelstoke RCMP.
