A Skip the Dishes driver bolted after backing into two parked vehicles in Kamloops on Sunday night.
The accident happened at 9:30 p.m. at a home on Laurier Drive in Aberdeen, when a driver was dropping off food from Earl’s to people who live in the house.
Surveillance video shows the driver backing up into a parked Honda Civic, which then bumped into a truck parked behind it. The Skip the Dishes driver, in a sedan, then drove away from the scene, but returned moments later to drop off the food.
Surveillance then shows the driver walking to the front door, before running back to his car. The customers had paid for the food online, and the Skip the Dishes did not have to do a transaction at the door before leaving the scene.
The owner of the Civic, who did not want to be identified by NL News, says there was damage to the car that will now have to be fixed. Video of the incident was forwarded on to both Kamloops RCMP and ICBC.
A spokesperson for Skip the Dishes says “we always take action within our capacity, which can include immediate permanent removal of access to the Skip network, and full cooperation with local authorities.”
The spokesperson says its drivers are “independent contractors and not employees of Skip The Dishes.”
The incident was captured on home surveillance, which can be seen below.
