
One person was killed in a crash on the Trans-Canada Highway near Revelstoke this morning, between a passenger vehicle and a semi-truck.
Police say the crash happened at 4:40 a.m. about six kilometres west of Revelstoke.
It’s not clear yet what caused the crash; Mounties say when they arrived the passenger vehicle was in flames and the semi-truck was rolled over
The driver of the smaller vehicle involved was pronounced dead at the scene. That person has not been identified, as police are working to inform next-of-kin.
The highway has been closed in both directions since the crash, but according to DriveBC it is expected to reopened at 11 a.m.
Police and the BC Coroners Service are investigating the crash, and anyone with information is asked to call Revelstoke RCMP at 250-837-5255.
