Canada Post wants you to keep your dogs away from postal workers as they go about delivering mail in Kamloops.
It as they say doing so makes it more difficult to follow physical distancing guidelines if an owner has to retrieve their dogs, while also increasing the risk of a bite.
“A way to prevent your dog from approaching our employees is to keep them in another room for the time of the delivery,” the Crown Corporation said.
“As much as we love our canine pets, they are protective of their home and their family, and it’s impossible for delivery agents to know how any dog will react when they approach your home to deliver the mail. Dog incidents can range from encounters with threatening dogs to being attacked and bitten.”
It says about 41 per cent of households in Canada have dogs, and note that by keeping them in check, it will keep both employees and communities safe.
