The RCMP in Salmon Arm are investigating a stabbing in the Shuswap after a man showed up on the doorstep of a house on Forest Drive in Blind Bay asking for help last night.
Police say the victim was a 30-year-old Shuswap man, who was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries around 10:38 p.m. yesterday.
Southeast District RCMP Spokesperson Cpl. Jesse O’Donaghey says the investigation is in its early stages, but notes the stabbing likely happened at a nearby car wash. He says the RCMP’s Integrated Forensic Identification Section has examined the crime scene for evidence.
“Our investigators believe that as many as three suspects were involved in the physical confrontation, which resulted in the victim being stabbed multiple times,” he said. “Although it is early on in the investigation, RCMP has reason to believe the incident was targeted in nature.”
“In an effort to advance its investigation, the RCMP is urging any and all witnesses to come forward.”
If you have any information about the incident, you’re asked to call the Salmon Arm RCMP General Investigation Section at 250-832-6044, or call Crime Stoppers.
