Kamloops RCMP say the driver of a white pickup truck who hit a cyclist near the intersection of Monmouth Drive and Summit Drive on Saturday morning has been identified.
Staff Sgt. Sascha Fesenko says the unidentified driver was a given a ticket and charged under the Motor Vehicle Act yesterday, after a witness gave police the vehicle’s licence plate number.
According to police, the pickup driver stopped for a few moments after hitting the cyclist around 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, then drove away without exchanging any information.
The cyclist was taken to hospital with minor injuries.
“The Kamloops RCMP would like to thank the public for their assistance in identifying both the vehicle and driver,” Fesenko said, in a statement.
