Outgoing Kamloops Blazers captain Zane Franklin has signed a contract to play in the ECHL.
The fan favourite will be heading to Allen, Texas to play for the Allen Americans, as the ECHL is set to resume play on December 4th.
Franklin played four seasons in the WHL – two with the Blazers. This past season he put 91 points in 63 games and was fourth in league scoring.
“Zane will be one of the new guys that can chop the wood and carry the water,” Americans Head Coach and General Manager Steve Martinson said. “He has great vision and passing skills, combined with being one of the toughest pound-for-pound players in junior hockey.”
The Allen Americans are affiliated with the NHL’s Minnesota Wild.
