The District of Logan Lake says 1,000 litres of paint spilled on public property last week has now been cleaned up.
Acting chief administrative officer Melisa Miles says the District paid about $10,000 to have a contractor, Lafrentz Road Marking, clean up the mess over the weekend.
Miles says it was non-regulated waterborne latex paint, which is less hazardous than other types of paint.
“We didn’t really know what to expect. Obviously 1,000 litres of paint spilled is something that we’re not used to dealing with on a daily basis. We were happy with the outcome, but it’s not something we can really be happy about. And we’re working with RCMP ongoing on it.”
A 16-year-old was arrested as a result of the paint spill, after police determined the paint was dumped on purpose.
