More than 80 per cent of students in Kamloops and across will be returning to in-class learning next week, according to the Premier.
John Horgan says parents across all 60 students were canvassed about whether they will be sending their kids back to school.
“On average, about 80 per cent or better are ready, willing and able to send their kids back to school next week.”
Unlike in June, students won’t be able to do a hybrid mix of in-class and online learning; it will be one or the other. There will be some exceptions for students in schools with more than 1,500 students.
Horgan says the COVID-19 safety protocols will be amended as needed throughout the school year.
“This government will be focused everyday on making sure that children are safe, that families are safe, and those that work inside our school system are safe. And there is no rigid plan other than the plan to get started, and making sure we have in place the physical distancing guidelines that we need, hand washing ability, and the cohorts that we’re developing.”
