A 21-year-old Kamloops man is facing 14 new Criminal Code charges, as police say they’ve arrested two men who were tied to recent break and enters around the city.
Shane Mcleod is facing two counts of break and enter, possession of break in instruments, mischief, and possession of property obtained by crime, as well as multiple counts of breach of court orders.
Charges are also pending against the second unnamed man.
Members of the Kamloops Crime Reduction Unit began their investigation into the break and enters last Thursday, September 1. They searched a Brocklehurst house the following day, and found stolen bikes, tools, alpine ski equipment, and car stereos inside.
“Some of those items were stolen from two break and enters that occurred that same morning,” Staff Sgt. Sascha Fesenko said, in a release.
“Kamloops RCMP are wishing to take this time to remind the public to record the serial numbers for all of their property including, tools, bikes and construction equipment as they are often instrumental in helping police return property to their rightful owner.”
Mcleod is in police custody and he had a court appearance in Kamloops today.
