Earlier in the day, the province unveiled its fall pandemic plan, with a focus on protecting the most vulnerable people while ensuring the healthcare system has the resources that it needs ahead of the upcoming flu season.
“Our community well-being is about ensuring we maintain our health and our economy. We need both to keep our communities and all of us resilient and strong,” said a statement from the Health Ministry.
“The steps each of us takes today and in the coming weeks, including taking a few minutes to get your influenza immunization, will make a difference tomorrow.”
There were two new healthcare outbreaks reported in the Lower Mainland and no new community outbreaks, although there continue to be exposure events.
And health officials says 5,086 people who tested positive for COVID-19 are considered to have recovered.
