Will he or won’t he?
The Premier is being coy about whether or not he’ll call an early election and one of our area MLA’s wants answers.
Kamloops North – Thompson Liberal, Peter Milobar, says John Horgan needs to get his priorities straight and clear the air. “He needs to dispel this right now. He needs to get on the business of governing. He needs to not worry about where his next dad joke is coming from and actually figure out where his economic recovery plan is and deliver that out to the people then we can look at it and make suggestions.”
“We’re made over sixty suggestions to help the economy along, they’ve all fallen on deaf ears by the government.”
“We should not be sitting here wasting a week of time talking about a potential election or not an election, the Premier can put that to rest and we can instead be focusing on getting the services and programs delivered to people and funded for people and businesses that they actually need right now.”
Milobar says “It’s ultimately the Premier’s call whether there will be an election or not.
He thinks there could be more than meets the eye as far as what’s happening behind the scene. “The premier needs to be very definitive, either stand up to his back room boys and women and tell them no, we’re not having an election and convey that to the public or rip the Band-Aid off and say we’re having one.”
He continued, “This back and forth guessing game serves the public very poorly. It chews up another week of time and energy.”
“We have Ministers floundering in their files and instead of the Premier working to get those Ministers in line and their files in line, he’s playing word games with the media about an election that no one other than him and his backroom NDP cronies want to see happen.”
Milobar says British Columbians “Do not need this distraction in any way, shape of form and it’s really disappointing that the Premier is choosing to let this continue to be the narrative.”
