One of two suspects wanted on attempted murder charges after a stabbing in Blind Bay last month has been arrested.
Police say 36-year-old Alexander Boucher of Enderby was spotted by an off-duty police officer along the 800 block of Middleton Way in Coldstream. This officer drove past Boucher around 9:45 a.m. and continued to follow him after alerting her colleagues.
“It was the quick thinking and coordinated response by our team that led to the arrest of a potentially dangerous person safely and without incident,” Constable Chris Terleski said, in a statement.
The arrest comes four days after police say Boucher allegedly fled a Vernon apartment. Police say he tried to run away on foot once officers got to his location today, but he was arrested in a nearby park after being cornered by officers.
Also facing charges are 33-year-old Jordy Moyan on Kelowna, who is in custody, and Terrance Alan Jones, 40, of Edmonton, who is still unaccounted for.
Police say Boucher is in custody pending a future court appearance. Anyone with information on Jones’ possible whereabouts is asked to contact their local police department or Crime Stoppers.
