A Kamloops match maker says when it comes to dating most of us have at least one issue that is a deal breaker.
Tara Holmes, co-host of Radio NL’s Holmes is Where the Heart is, said while on the NL Morning News, that we all have an issue with something specific.
“You meet someone, a lot of people say deal breakers are important and they are,” she said. “Like, they don’t want someone who is lazy, they don’t want someone who’s intolerant, they don’t want someone who’s racist.”
“Well of course, people don’t come to me and say I’m a lazy racist but I need to ask people who they actually sleep with and I know that sounds weird, it’s not what you think.”
What Holmes is talking about is people that allow their pets to sleep in their beds. She was asked by NL’s Howie Reimer if that really was a big deal for people.
“Absolutely. Well, I’m not saying for me but I’m saying in general, people need to know that if you start dating someone,” she noted.
“Well how would you feel if you started dating someone and things get serious and she informs you that her two children are in her bed. Some people think of their animals as their kids, like how would that go?”
Holmes joked, “You can’t suddenly say ‘Oh this is my room, and there’s my German Sheppard, let’s get at it!’ No, you cannot. I’m not here to tell you I know where animals should be sleeping, I’m just saying the person should know before things get serious.”
Tune in to Radio NL this Sunday at 5:05 for Holmes is Where the Heart is, and you can hear Tara and MJ talk about all things dating related, including deal breakers.
